About the job

Bottle is hiring a Business Development Representative to help drive our sales and grow our business.

If you are energetic and love talking to your local wine merchant, meal prep company, coffee shop owner, favorite flower vendor or chef, then this might be the role for you. You can read more about what it's like to work in sales at Bottle here

What you'll do

  • Market research to identify key locations and areas of interest for outreach. You’ll start by working in our current target market, meal prep, and then help us develop leads in a new verticals like juice and wine shops.
  • Source and create lists of leads that are a good fit for Bottle - finding leads creatively and with the help of a data entry team to support your efforts.
  • Identify the needs and challenges of the prospective merchant and figure out ways to understand them. You’ll then take that understanding and communicate compelling reasons to use Bottle.
  • Prospect potential merchants and schedule demos for Dave (our current Account Executive) and other members of the team as it grows. You’ll even have the chance to grow into an AE role as you develop and learn.
  • Manage merchant outreach and conversations using Hubspot. Help us build high volume, customized personalization at scale with our outreach strategy.
  • Assist with writing sales pitches, presentations, and other sales collateral.
  • Report directly to the co-founder of Bottle, Andy.

You'll enjoy working in sales at Bottle if

  • Talking to owners and operators of local, small businesses sounds rewarding. You'll help them solve their biggest problems and be a resource for them as they grow their businesses and reclaim their time.
  • The idea of crafting the perfect email, finding the right line to get a reply, and then seeing your work pay off by booking meetings gives you energy.
  • You like puzzles - specifically the puzzle of figuring out why a vendor that uses a Bottle competitor like Wix should switch to Bottle and sell to their community by text message.
  • You're resourceful and organized. These skills will help you find more leads, write amazing emails, and succeed.
  • You're a self-starter and motivated to learn, grow, and excel in the role. Since we’re a small team you’ll have plenty of leeway to carve your own path and help us build an amazing sales process.
  • You're excited about helping local businesses succeed and grow using differentiated technology.
  • You’re creative, adaptive and persistent (but in a good way).

Your life in sales at Bottle

We're a fully remote company with employees in the US and abroad. When you join our team, we'll spend the first month training you on how we sell. You'll learn about our unique process and how we create a meaningful relationship with local merchants. You'll become an expert in our prospects' pain points. We'll help you start to master outreach and prospecting so you have all the tools to be a great BDR.

Once you're trained, you'll be selling for Bottle. You'll have a ton of independence, with clear expectations around the process and goals needed to be successful. We'll support you to help to produce high quality work while having time to explore other interests at Bottle and in your personal life (Dave is a drummer who also does sales at Bottle, for example).

You'll be woven into our small team. While we prioritize asynchronous communication over long meetings, our culture is supportive and inclusive, with time to get to know each other. We aim for just the right balance of independence, synchronicity and connection to create a great work setup.

In order to do this role, you'll need at least 6 hours of overlap with East Coast hours, but you can do that anywhere you'd like 🙂 .

Our benefits

  • Excellent health, vision and dental benefits.
  • 15 days paid vacation. We'll also take the standard national holidays off (New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve off early, Christmas Day, and New Year’s Eve off early).
  • A brand new computer for you to work remotely.
  • $150/month co-working space credit.
  • Continual Education - if there is a class you're interested in taking, run it by us. We want you to learn and grow, online classes are a great way to do that.
  • Coworkers who care about building something great.
